Homage to the elm trees is part of the exhibition Hauptache Skulpture at Ziegelhütte Darmstadt in Germany.
The Darmstädter Sezession is one of the most active artist associations in Germany and responsible organising the renowned annual exhibition for contemporary sculpture and painting, since almost 100 years. This year the exhibition shows sculptures by members of the Darmstädter Sezession and works by twelve invited artists, until the 3rd of September 2016.
An Award Ceremony takes places on 3rd of September, where two of the invited sculptures will be awarded for their outstanding quality.
Darmstadt Secession´s Jury invites Lies-Marie´s work Homage to the elm trees to be part of the exhibition Hauptsache Skulptur among eleven invited artists. The exhibition takes place at Ziegelhütte in Darmstadt, Germany.
L-M´s participation is supported by The Swedish Arts Grants Committeé.

Lies-Marie teaches the one week summer workshop in Sculptural Skills at the Academy of Crafts and Design Gut Rosenberg in Aachen, Germany.
For the first scandinavian Aesop store in Stockholm Lies-Marie is happy to get invited by the architecture office In Praise Of Shadows to enrich their total store design with her artistic elm concept.
At folk high school Vårdinge Folkhögskolan, Lies-Marie teaches the two week class in design and sculpture.
Lies-Marie receives grateful the One Year Scholarship for artists from Konstnärsnämden, Sweden. Now she develops her elm tree sculptures.
For the New Karolinska Solna in Stockholm Lies-Marie got invited to do the commision proposal of the Academic Mall/ Akademiska Stråket, an outdoor area at NKS. The proposal will be presented to the city council in February 2014.

Lies-Marie´s majestic elm tree furniture are part of the exhibition „One, Two, Tree!“ at the great Artipelag exhibitionhall in Värmdö, close to Stockholm. The exhibition is curated by Staffan Bengtsson, chief editor of the design magazine BRUNO. Queen Silvia of Sweden came to the opening and sat in the elm tree sofa.
The sculpture Elma is now shown at the Museum Of Finnish Architekture in Helsinki. The exhibition is an expanded version of the joint Nordic Light Houses exhibition curated by Peter MacKeith for the Venice Biennale in summer 2012.
Three of Lies-Marie´s elm tree sofas are shown at From&Design Center from the 19th of Januay until the 17th of February. Welcome to visit the beautiful space at Lilla torg 9 in Malmö, entrance free!
Eight artists are exhibiting at Dalslands Art Museum under the theme "Urskog" (engl.: primeval forest). Three of Lies-Marie's elm sofas are shown in the exhibition from the 15th September until the 02de December.
It is an honour to cooperate with the architecture office In Praise Of Shadow to create a sculpture in elm for The Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2012. The sculpture relates to elements in Sverre Fehns‘ pavilion, build in 1962. Exhibition dates: 29th August - 25th November 2012.

On this sunny day the third year bachelor students from the KTH Architecture Uni came to join an outdoor wood workshop held by Lies-Marie. Fun and nice architecture models in solid wood was the outcome. Thank´s for a wonderful day!

Lies-Marie makes a play sculpture with benches for the northern cemetery in Stockholm. An oak tree at the cemetery got cut down because of a lightning fall in. The same oak is the material used for this project.

Lies-Marie participates in the one-week design workshop UR SKOG in Fengerfors Dalsland/Sweden. UR SKOG is a design project driven by Helen Backlund, Dalslands Konstmuseum. Workshop leaders are Basil Kardasis, Professor Royal College of Art, London and Charlie Davidson. John Michael Ekeblad, Made of New York and Andrea Trimarchi, Formafantasma are around to give feedback at the presentation-day.

The project at Bandhagshemmet in Stockholm is ready!!! Yesterday the carne lifted five elm trunk seats on to the grounding. Bandhagshemmet is now provided with Lies-Marie‘s objects in the garden, the entrance and the restaurant.
An afternoon with „sustainable design stories“ at the Nordic Light Hotel in Stockholm, 11th of May! Listen to five of Sweden's most exiting design offices, and how they work with sustainability. Lies-Marie will present her new projects. The seminar is the opening for the exhibition Midsummer Pixel at Nordic Light during summer.

Seven seats made out of elm trees are almost ready for Bandhagshemmet in Stockholm. The wood for the project comes from local elm trees, felled to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease, and was supplied by the specialists at Jacksons Trädvård.
Lies-Marie collaborates with fashion designer Ann-Sofie Back, and produces prototypes of accessories in burl wood for Back‘s A/W collection 2011. The collection will be shown at the London Fashion week in February.
»homage to the elm trees IV« is awarded at Ung8, a travelling exhibition open to young designers. The exhibition tours for two years around Sweden and the World. Ung8 starts its tour at the Green House during the Furniture Fair in Stockholm, 8th-12th February. Welcome!
A brand-new version of the lamp Point Of View designed by Lies-Marie and produced by Svedholm Design AB, will be shown at the Monter A12:18 during the Furniture Fair in Stockholm, 8th-12th February. Come and have a look!
The oak-wall is ready and mounted in the restaurant at Bandhagshemmet in Stockholm! The oak-wall is used as a bench, and is the first part of the artistic design Lies-Marie makes for the building in Stockholm, orderd by Stockholm Konst and Micasa.
Lies-Marie rents the cabinetmaker's workshop in Gnesta to build the objects she designed for the restaurant, the entrance and the garden at Bandhagshemmet, ordered by Stockholm Konst and Micasa. The project will be ready in the end of April 2011.
Stockholm Konst invites Lies-Marie to do the artistic design for Bandhagenshemmet. She will be busy with this project until April 2011.
Lies-Marie gets invited to participate in the 3:rd International Art Symposium in Laubach in Germany during 16th-27th June. 13 Artists come together to have a great time working together in the palace garden in Laubach. The results will be exhibited at the palace gallery during 27th June – 8th August.
The MA-Examproject Homage to the elm tree II-IV will be shown at Konstfack's Spring Exhibition during 20th – 30th May 2010. Warmly welcome!
Lies-Marie participates in the product development workshop Fur&Furniture in Finland at Central Ostrobothnia University of Applied Sciences during 10th-14h May.
At the fur trade unit the workshop was directed by professor Basil Kardasis (Royal College of Art, London). The end products designed by the five participants, Matteo Bardi, Admir Jukanovic, Lies-Marie Hoffmann, Tom Hildesley, Thomas Kirchgrabner gets exhibited in PREMIER VISION- CUIR A PARIS, September 2010 and in MIFUR, Milan, March 2011.
The furniture Tension, designed by Lies-Marie Hoffmann, receives the 2:nd price in Glimakras Designers Price 2010.

Lies-Marie placed her 1.5 tones heavy elm tree bench homage to the elm II at the marble entrance of Studio B3 in Stockholm. The bench is part of the exhibition "The Midas Touch", organized by the Interior Architect Students at Konstfack, showing their furniture made out of one material. 10th-26th February!
